Ixodes werneri View in CoL is an Oriental Region species first described from the Philippines but now recorded from Pahang State in peninsular Malaysia ( Kohls 1950, 1957; Keirans et al. 1970) and from Vietnam ( Kolonin 2003). Few collections of this species have been made. Rodents are known hosts for all life history stages, and tree shrews ( Tupaiidae ) for immatures ( Keirans et al. 1970; Kolonin 2003, 2009). It occurs in rainforest habitats (Guglielmone et al. 2014).
The female is described in Kohls (1950), the male and immatures in Keirans et al. (1970).
