Diagnosis. ♀♂: mid-sized, robust, bees, rarely shorter than 8 mm; bilobed glossa; F1 about as long as F2; pilose, the hairs longer than flagellum diameter at least on mesosoma; the basal portion of propodeum limited posteriorly by a carina (or sharp change in slope) and divided into pits by longitudinal carinae; fore wing with three submarginal cells; second recurrent vein of hindwing arched outward, “S”-shaped; pterostigma well developed, longer than prestigma; basitibial and pygidial plates and prepygidial and pygidial fimbria absent.
