Diagnosis. Anterior pair of eyes dorsolaterally on widest part of prostomium. Elytra: margin with very short, fringing papillae; surface covered by conical microtubercles, with a row of rounded, drop-shaped and often darkly pigmented macrotubercles near posterior margin. Dorsal and ventral tentacular cirri and dorsal cirri papillate, tapering subdistally to fi liform tip.

Description. Prostomium bilobed, with distinct cephalic peaks; median antenna with large ceratophore in anterior notch, style papillate, tapering, pigmented basally and with a pigmented band distally; lateral antennae with small ceratophores inserted ventrally, styles short, papillate, tapering, each pigmented basally and with a pigmented band distally; palps only slightly papillate, longer than median antenna and tentacular cirri; anterior pair of eyes dorsolaterally on widest part of prostomium, posterior pair dorsally near hind margin. Tentaculophores inserted laterally to prostomium, each with two chaetae and a pair of papillate dorsal and ventral tentacular cirri, tapering subdistally to fi liform tip, each pigmented basally and with two pigmented bands distally. Second segment with fi rst pair of elytra, biramous parapodia, and long ventral buccal cirri, similar to tentacular cirri (fi gure 12A).

Fifteen pairs of elytra; elytral margin with very short fringing papillae; surface covered by conical microtubercles, with a row of rounded, drop-shaped and often darkly pigmented macrotubercles near posterior margin (fi gure 12B, C). Styles of dorsal cirri papillate, tapering subdistally to fi liform tip, extending beyond neurochaetae, each pigmented basally and with two pigmented bands distally (fi gure 12D); styles of ventral cirri papillate, tapering, shorter than neuropodia.

Parapodia biramous, both rami with single aciculum penetrating epidermis; notopodia with short, rounded presetal and longer, pointed postsetal acicular lobe, neuropodia with subconical presetal acicular lobe with digitiform supra-acicular process and shorter, rounded postsetal lobe. Notochaetae slightly stouter than neurochaetae, with distinct rows of spines and blunt tips; neurochaetae with distinct rows

spines only in distal part, upper mostly bidentate with secondary tooth distally, some lower unidentate.
