Type material
Holotype ♂ and paratypes two ♀ ( ZMFUM), Iran: Kerman Province, Baft, Bazanjan
(29° 14′ 38.4″N, 56° 41′ 45.6″E), ca. 2300 m, 15 May 2013 (F. Nazari).
Etymology
This species is named after its type locality, Kerman Province, Iran .
Diagnosis
This species can be distinguished from B. foordi ( Marusik & Fet, 2009: 86, figs 7.13 – 14, 8.5) by its shorter insemination ducts, not wrapping receptacle, receptacles spaced by more than one diameter (less than one diameter in B. foordi ), shorter fertilisation duct and more massive accessory gland ( Figure 2A – F View Figure 2 ). Diagnostic characters for males as described in generic diagnosis.
Description
Male. Body length 5.55, carapace wider than long, 2.19 long, 2.35 wide, femur I 3.51 long, femur I length/carapace length ratio 1.6, carapace length/width ratio 0.97; eye sizes: AME 0.114, ALE 0.070, PME 0.080, PLE 0.080; clypeus 0.480 high. General colouration yellowish-brown; carapace wider than long, yellowish-brown with dark marginal markings, radial spots, dark markings on median groove and V-shaped mark behind eyes; ocular area dark brown with black eye borders ( Figure 1A View Figure 1 ); labium, endites and sternum yellowish brown ( Figure 1B View Figure 1 ); abdomen with distinct pattern as shown in Figure 1A View Figure 1 with cardiac mark and two distinct transverse bands; legs yellowish-brown, femora with distinct annulations; coxa IV separated from each other by less than one diameter.
Palp as illustrated in Figures 2A – C View Figure 2 and 5A – C View Figure 5 ; tegulum discoid, tegular apophysis large, with bent blunt tip, located in the centre of tegulum; embolus starts at about the 6 o ’ clock position and makes less than a half coil, terminal 2/3 of embolus thick and straight; thick part of embolus shorter than width of tegulum.
Female. Body length 6.6 – 6.95; carapace slightly longer than wide, 2.4 long, 2.2 – 2.3 wide; femur I 3.51 long, femur I length/carapace length ratio 1.46, carapace length/width ratio 1.06; eye sizes: AME 0.140, ALE 0.070, PME 0.084, PLE 0.076; clypeus 0.604 high. General habitus as shown in Figure 1C and D View Figure 1 ; carapace and abdomen patterns as in male; legs with distinct annulations. Epigyne as in Figure 2D – F View Figure 2 ; with distinct median plate and small diagonal windows, septum as wide as the lateral arms of median plate; median plate not well separated from the epigynal plate; vulva with two pairs of receptacles, lateral receptacles larger than mesal; mesal receptacle droplet shaped; lateral receptacles bean shaped with distinct stem; accessorial gland digitiform (cylindrical) as long as stem of lateral receptacle.
Distribution
This species is known only from its type locality in Kerman Province, Iran .
