Holotype: 1 (slide) Canada. [Northwest Territories], Reindeer St[ation], 87, [9–18.vi.] 1948, [in the tundra in tussocks of Eriophorum vaginatum and wet moss], M. Hammer (CNC 165107, Type No. 18200).

Listed as Heterosminthurus undulatus (Hammer, 1953) by Stach (1956: 180), although Christiansen & Bellinger (1980–1981: 1147) regarded this specimen as “immature and indeterminable”.
