Amemboa (Amemboa) javanica Lundblad 1933 View in CoL : Arch. Hydrobiol. Suppl. 405.

Diagnosis. Males of A. javanica have the pygophore with a truncate tip ( Fig. 28 View FIGURES 22 – 35 ). Further, the male profemur of A. javanica can be distinguished from those of consubgeners known from the Phetchabun Mountain Range by having only a single hair patch ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 8 – 21 ), whereas males of the other species have either two or three distinct hair patches.

Discussion. Amemboa javanica has been recorded from Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam ( Polhemus & Andersen 1984; Zettel & Chen 1996, 1997; Cheng et al. 2001; Zettel et al. 2007). In Thailand, this species has been collected from Chiang Mai, Kanchanaburi, Khon Kaen, Phetchabun, Phetchaburi, Phrae, Prachin Buri, and Saraburi provinces ( Polhemus & Andersen 1984; Vitheepradit 2000). In the Phetchabun Mountain Range, this species was collected from the margins of streams and rock pools.
