Fig. 47 View Figs 37–56
Trechus (Archeotrechus) relictus Magrini, Quéinnec & Vigna Taglianti, 2012: 20 View in CoL ; locus typicus: Oromia Province, Bale massif, Goba, Mt Sgona (Mt Batu), alt. about 3800 m.
Diagnosis
This species is easily recognizable based on the combination of the following characters: body length below 3 mm (maximum body length 3.02 mm: Magrini et al. 2012), only one protarsomere of male dilated, elytra with striae indistinctly impressed on disc, not iridescent, aedeagal median lobe elongated with ventral margin sinusoidal and with apical capitulum markedly button-like delimited.
Type material
Not studied. Identification is based on the very detailed description and figuring of habitus and genital characters as well as on additional material collected close to the type locality.
Material examined
ETHIOPIA: 54 specimens (³³, ♀♀), Oromia, Bale Mts, brook valley above Goba, alt. 3750–3800 m, 06°54′42″ N, 39°54′38″ E, 19 Feb. 2007 ( CAF, CSCHM); 7 ³³, 4 ♀♀, Bale Mts, Kaficha Vall., alt. 3960 m, 06°59′12″ N, 39°51′53″ E, 27 Feb. 2015 ( CSCHM); 1 ³, Bale Mts, Tegona Valley above Goba, alt. 3550 m, 06°54′42″ N, 39°53′35″ E, 20 Feb. 2007 ( CAF).
Distribution
Locally endemic of the northeastern slope of the Bale Mts above Goba and the adjacent parts of the Sanetti Plateau (see Magrini et al. 2012). The vertical distribution of the species ranges from approximately 3700 m to 4100 m.
