1961 Paracypridea similis View in CoL n. sp. —Krömmelbein, p. 359–360, pl. 4, figs 19–24.
Diagnosis: A medium-sized Paracypridea species , closely related to P. obovata obovata , with the following peculiarities: carapace in lateral view a short trapezoid shape, rounded. In dorsal view biconvex, maximum carapace width behind the middle; weak indentation of the sides shortly in front of the middle. Rostrum very small, rounded; post-rostral groove rounded, weakly developed; no distinctive rostral sulcus. - Form a [pl. 4, figs 19–21]: dorsal margin more or less straight, horizontal, running more or less parallel to the ventral margin. - Form b [pl. 4, figs 22–24]: dorsal margin distinctly rising towards the posterior. Concave indentation above the posterior end, distinctly developed on the right valve. Posterior margin in the indented area inclining significantly more steeply than in P. subovata subovata .
