Only one Chaetoptelius species is known in Iran ( Table 1 View TABLE 1 ).

Small, 3.0− 3.5 mm long. Antennal funicle 7-segmented. Antennal club 3-segmented. Lateral sides of the pronotum granulate. Pistacia and Cotinus (Anacardiaceae) hosts....................................... … Chaetoptelius vestitus (Mulsant & Rey)

Palaearctic distribution: Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Macedonia, Spain, Russia, Ukraine, Algeria, Canary Islands, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey ( Knížek 2011), Iran ( Beaver et al. 2016).

Iran distribution: Fars, Isfahan, Khorasan, Zanjan (Modares Awal 1997), Guilan ( Samin et al. 2011), Kerman (Modares Awal 1997; Nejad Ghaderi et al. 2014), Semnan ( Borumand 1998).

Host plants in Iran: Pistacia vera (Mohajer 2006; Pfeffer 1995).
