Material examined. [ NHMD]: ARGENTINA: Tierra del Fuego: Estancia Viamonte, Auricosta , 2m, 1♁ 23.i.1979, 1♁, 1♀ 31.i.1979 (Mision Cientifica Danesa). Mendoza: NW of Mendoza, Puente del Inca , 2750m, 1♁, 1♀ 29.iii.1979 (Mision Cientifica Danesa) . PERU. Junin: 10km NE Oroya, Huacapo, 4030m, 1♀ 1.ii.1987 (O. Karsholt). Cerro de Pasco: 22km NW Cerro de Pasco, Upper Huallaga Valley, Pariama , c. 3800m 1♀ 6–8.ii.1987 (O. Karsholt) .

Diagnosis. Head and body dark greyish brown, in places with a rose hue, on abdomen with a bronzy subshine; wing and calypteres ochre brown to ochre yellow; halter brown or ochre. Acrostichals setulose apart from stronger pair in front of suture and prescutellar pair; posterior intraalar setulose or absent; meron bare. Male. Head dichoptic as in the female, frons occupying more than one-third of head width; fronto-orbital plates each with 3 orbital setae and 2 frontal setae. Sternite V with long posterior lobes distally hooked; upper epandrium rounded, not heeled; surstyli thicker in basal than distal half. Female. Frontal setae 2–3 pairs. Spermathecal ducts very long and slender.
