Diagnoses. Male imago. 1) stigmatic area of forewing opaque ( Fig. 12D View FIGURE 12 ); 2) hind wing present; 3) abdominal terga I, VII–X brown, segments II–VI light brown ( Fig. 12A View FIGURE 12 ); 4) posterior margin of styliger plate concave, with pointed spine medially ( Figs 12F and 12G View FIGURE 12 ) and without rounded protuberance.

Mature nymph. 1) frons with two keels ( Fig. 13F View FIGURE 13 ); 2) distolateral margin of labrum with bifid setae ( Fig. 14B View FIGURE 14 ); 3) right mandible incisors cleft ( Fig. 14D View FIGURE 14 ); 4) distomedial protuberance of segment II 2.2× width of base of segment III ( Fig. 14H View FIGURE 14 ); 5) hind wing pads present; 6) anterior surface of forefemur with two rows of stout and blunt setae near dorsal margin, and one row of strong pectinate and stout setae near ventral margin ( Fig. 15A View FIGURE 15 ); 7) anterior surface of foretibia with pectinate and stout setae near ventral margin and blunt setae near dorsal margin ( Fig. 15A View FIGURE 15 ); 8) anterior surface of tarsi without setae ( Fig. 15A View FIGURE 15 ); 9) ventral margin of foretarsus with one row of pectinate and stout setae ( Fig. 15A View FIGURE 15 ); 10) tarsal claw 0.4–0.6× length of tarsus ( Fig. 15A View FIGURE 15 ); 11) cercus with short spines on each segment, and long spines on every four segments ( Figs 15E and 15F View FIGURE 15 ); 12) paracercus with short spines on each segment ( Fig. 15G View FIGURE 15 ); 13) body color pattern as in figures 13A–13E.

Description. Male imago. Body 4.90 mm; forewing 4.7 mm; hind wing 0.9 mm. Head brown. Turbinate portion of compound eyes orange ( Figs 12A–12C View FIGURE 12 ), with white band in lateral view. Antenna light brown. Dorsal portion of turbinate eyes slightly oval; length 1.4× width; stalk height 1.1× height of dorsal portion. Thorax brown, with two white marks near posterior margin of mesonotum. Anteronotal and metascutellar protuberance rounded. Legs light brown. Forewing ( Fig. 12D View FIGURE 12 ) veins light brown; stigmatic area with five cross veins reaching subcostal vein and two veins not reaching subcostal vein; marginal intercalary veins paired, except between veins CuP and A; length of each intercalary vein 0.4× distance between adjacent longitudinal veins; length of forewing about 2.4× width. Hind wing hyaline ( Fig. 12E View FIGURE 12 ); with two complete longitudinal veins; costal process quadrangular, posteriorly projected and located on basal third. Abdomen with terga I, VII–X brown, segments II–VI light brown; tracheation black. Sterna VII–IX with white spots. Caudal filaments white. Genitalia ( Figs 12F–12G View FIGURE 12 ) with forceps segment I cylindrical; 0.3× length of segment II; distance between base of forceps 0.4× distance between lateral margins of forceps. Forceps segment III 0.3× length of segment II. Posterior margin of styliger plate concave with pointed spine medially.

Redescription. Mature nymph. Length of body: 4.02–5.22 mm; cercus: 2.43–3.15 mm; paracercus: 2.32– 2.77 mm (n=2). Head yellowish. Antenna yellowish. Turbinate portion of male compound eyes yellowish. Frons with two keels ( Fig. 13F View FIGURE 13 ). Antenna ( Fig. 14A View FIGURE 14 ) with scape and pedicel subcylindrical; flagellum with blunt spines and thin and simple setae. Labrum ( Figs 14B and 14C View FIGURE 14 ) rectangular, broader than long; length about 0.7× maximum width; dorsally with thin and simple setae scattered over surface; subapical pair of setae near middle distinguishable from others; near distolateral margin pair of long and thin setae indistinguishable from others; ventrally with submarginal row of setae composed of stout, bifid and pectinate setae on distal margin, and stout and bifid setae on distolateral and lateral margins; pair of small and rounded denticles near midline; ventral surface with short and stout setae near lateral and distolateral margin. Right mandible ( Fig. 14D View FIGURE 14 ) with incisors cleft. Inner and outer set of incisors respectively with 3 + 4 denticles. Prostheca slender, bifurcated at middle, inner lobe longer than outer, both pectinate. Margin between prostheca and mola convex; tuft of stout setae at base of mola present; tuft of setae at apex of mola present, reduced to a single seta. Lateral margins slightly convex. Left mandible ( Fig. 14E View FIGURE 14 ) with incisors partially fused. Inner and outer set of incisors respectively with 2 + 4 denticles. Prostheca robust, apex with three small digitiform projection. Margin between prostheca and mola slightly convex; tuft of stout setae at base of mola present; tuft of setae at apex of mola absent. Lateral margins slightly convex. Hypopharynx ( Fig. 14F View FIGURE 14 ) with lingua subequal in length to superlingua, distal margin convex; medial tuft of setae absent. Superlingua rounded; thin and simple setae scattered over distal margin; lateral margin with short spines. Maxilla ( Fig. 14G View FIGURE 14 ) medially, on inner margin, with 1 stout setae. Maxillary palp long, almost 2.0× length of galealacinia; setae on maxillary palp thin and simple; palp segment II 1.2× length of segment I. Labium ( Fig. 14H View FIGURE 14 ) with glossa slightly narrowing toward apex, 0.9× length of paraglossa; inner margin ventrally bare; inner margin dorsally with 11 stout setae increasing in length apically; apex with three stout setae dorsally; outer margin ventrally bare, outer margin dorsally with eleven long and stout setae increasing in length distally; dorsal surface bare; ventral surface scattered with short, thin and simple setae. Paraglossa apex rounded; apical half of outer margin with one row of four long and stout setae ventrally, dorsally with one row of long and stout setae on outer margin; dorsal surface with three longitudinal rows of setae, two near outer and one near inner margins; ventral surface with one row of four stout setae increasing length near inner margin. Labial palp with segment I 0.9× length of segments II and III combined; segment I with thin and simple setae. Segment II with protuberance 2.2× width of base of segment III; inner margin with few short and thin setae; outer margin with many, long and thin setae; dorsally covered with simple setae. Segment III inner margin with one row of stout setae ventrally and dorsally; length 1.0× width; covered with short and thin setae. Thorax yellowish; two brown marks near posterior margin of mesonotum; metanotum brown; base of wing pads darker. Hind wing pads present. Foreleg ( Fig. 15A View FIGURE 15 ) ratio 1.3:(0.59mm):0.7:0.3. Forefemur with length about 3.8× maximum width; dorsal margin with one row of blunt setae (in lateral view they look like stout setae); ventral margin with few short simple setae; length of setae on outer margin about 0.1× maximum width of femur; anterior surface with two rows of robust and blunt setae near dorsal margin, and two rows of robust and strong pectinate, and stout setae near ventral margin. Dorsal margin of tibia with two or three short and stout setae; ventral margin with one row of robust, pectinate and stout setae; anterior surface with robust, pectinate and stout setae, and one row of robust and blunt setae near dorsal margin. Dorsal margin of tarsus with scarce short and thin setae; ventral margin with one row of pectinate and stout setae. Mid and hind legs with posterior surface of femur with two rows of stout setae near ventral margin. Abdomen yellowish, segments II, III, V and IX with brown marks laterally; medioanterior and medioposterior sigilla brown; sometimes segment VIII brown. Gills hyaline; margin with narrow spines intercalating with short, thin and simple setae ( Figs 15C and 15D View FIGURE 15 ). Tracheae pigmented, restricted to main trunk. Gill I as long as length of segment II to half of III combined; lanceolate. Gill IV as long as length of segments IV to V combined; lanceolate. Gill VII as long as length of segments VIII to IX; lanceolate. Paraproct with 17–20 marginal spines ( Fig. 15H View FIGURE 15 ). Paracercus ( Fig. 15G View FIGURE 15 ) with short spines on each segment. Cercus ( Figs 15E and 15F View FIGURE 15 ) with spines on all segments, basal half with long spines on all segments, apical half with long spines on every four segments.

Comments. The male imago of P. ibicui   can be distinguished from other male imagoes of Paracloeodes   by the unique combination of having a pointed spine in a concavity of the stylinger plate.
