Stem cortex has scattered amyloplasts and ubiquitously tannins are found. Wood is parenchymatous. Axial matrix is formed by vessels, some paratracheal parenchyma cells, few fibers and tannins ( Fig. 3F View FIG ). Rays are multiseriate. Secondary phloem is collapsed. Pith has a star-shape, it has abundant tannins, amyloplasts and few druses.
