Ceiupaba lineata Martins & Galileo, 1998 b: 261 View in CoL
Mimasyngenes piauiensis Galileo, Martins & Nascimento, 2014: 394 View in CoL Syn. nov.
Ceiupaba lineata View in CoL was described from a male collected at Sete Lagoas (Instituto de Pesquisas Agronomicos, Minas Gerais, Brazil) ( Figs. 5–8 View FIGURES 1–8 ). The species is also known from Piauí, Bahia, and São Paulo in Brazil and from Santa Cruz in Bolivia .
In their description of M. piauiensis ( Figs 1–4 View FIGURES 1–8 ), from Piaui, Brazil, the authors commented that this species was the only one in the genus without even a small lateral pronotal tubercle. The removal of this species from Mimasyngenes , results in all the remaining species having a tubercle laterally on the pronotum. At the time of description, the holotype was determined to be a male; however, upon further detailed examination, the true sex of the specimen is female.
Material examined: 1 female, Chacurru Camp , Pedro Juan Caballero Amambay, Paraguay, 9 November 2018, W.H. & R.W Tyson, collectors ( WHTC) new country record .
