Diastephanus longicauda Elliott, 1919a , Entomologist, 52, 30.
Type material. Holotype ♀, India: Nilgiri hills (= Kerala / Tamil Nadu?) (3000 m), 14.iv1888, Coll. Sir George Hampson. ( NHM).
Diagnosis. Body length 15 mm, ovipositor sheath length 22 mm. Frons trans-rugose; vertex finely trans-striate with three stout carinae; pronotum finely trans-striate; metapleuron coarsely punctate; propodeum punctate; first metasomal tergite a little longer than remaining segments combined; hind coxae trans-striate; hind femur tridentate ventrally; wings infuscate; ovipositor sheath longer than metasoma, with a subapical ivory ring.

Distribution. Oriental: India (Nilgiri hills = Kerala / Tamil Nadu).
