Holotype 1♂: (1) “ Greece: Thessalia / Prov. Magnesia, Peninsula Pilio / Platanias 60km / SE Volos, Afilianes / 39°09'5N, 023°17'0E / 15.IV.2003 200m / leg. C. Lange & J. Ziegler”; (2) “ Holotypus / Myopa argentata / spec. nov. ♂ / Stuke det. 2003”. —[The holotype is in excellent condition, and is deposited at ZMHB. It was loaned to JHS for examination.]
