Podothrips femoralis Dang & Qiao View in CoL
Podothrips femoralis Dang & Qiao View in CoL , in Dang, Zhao, Wang & Qiao 2019: 43 View Cited Treatment .
This species was described from Yunnan, China, based on four females, but unfortunately these were not available for this study. According to the original description, this species is very similar in appearance to P. asiaticus sp. nov., P. bellatulus View in CoL from Thailand and P. taiwanus sp. nov. from Taiwan, although the authors originally compared it with P. sasacola View in CoL from Japan. From asiaticus and taiwanus , femoralis View in CoL can be distinguished by the prothoracic posteroangular setae expanded and the metathorax largely brown. From bellatulus View in CoL , femoralis View in CoL can be distinguished by antennal segment IV with (1+1 +1) sense cones, the metathorax largely brown and the prothoracic posteroangular setae expanded. P. bicolor View in CoL is also similar to this species in having antennal segment IV with (1+1 +1) sense cones, but has the fore femora largely yellow.
