sp. nov.

Promalactis albitriangula Wang , sp. nov.

( Figs 6 View FIGURES 2−9 , 19 View FIGURES 16−23 )

Type material. BOTSWANA: Holotype ♀, Gaborone, XII.1977, coll. B. Skule, slide No. ZMUC-NK 023 ( ZMUC).

DiagNosis. This new species is similar to P. alveiformis Wang, Du et Li, 2013 and P. aliformis sp. Nov. in having a white tornal spot. It can be distinguished by the orange yellow cilia along the distal part of the costal margin, which are gray in P. alveiformis and white in P. aliformis sp. Nov. It can be further separated by the larger tornal spot more remote from the costal spot, which is smaller and almost touches the costal spot in P. alveiformis and P. aliformis sp. Nov.

DescriptioN. Adult ( Fig. 6 View FIGURES 2−9 ) wingspan 10.0 mm. Head with vertex shining white, frons blackish gray, occiput ochreous yellow. Labial palpus with second segment orcherous yellow, third segment blackish brown. Antenna white annulated black. Thorax ochreous yellow except black posteriorly; tegula ochreous yellow. Forewing ochreous yellow, speckles white edged with black scales: basal fascia slender, straight; antemedian fascia wider, extending from basal 1/6 of costa to before middle of dorsum, arched outward; costal spot sub-rounded; tornal spot white, triangular; apical patch consisting of four white dots; cilia yellow tinged with black, white on extension of apical spot, gray along dorsal margin; cilia orange yellow. Hindwing and cilia deep gray. Foreleg with femur blackish brown on ventral surface, blackish gray on dorsal surface, tibia and tarsus blackish brown, tarsus marked with white; midleg with femur yellow, tibia and tarsus blackish brown, tibia with white tuft of long white hairs at apex, tarsus white at apex of each tarsomere; hindleg yellow, tarsus black marked with white at apex of each tarsomere on dorsal surface.

Female genitalia ( Fig.19 View FIGURES 16−23 ): Apophyses anteriores about half length of apophyses posteriores. Ostium bursae small and rounded. Lamella postvaginalis transversely sub-elliptical, with dense fine spines and sparse setae on posterior half, concave at middle on posterior margin. Ductus bursae with basal 3/4 sclerotized, distal 1/4 enlarged ovately, with several denticles. Corpus bursae elliptical, approximately half length of ductus bursae; signum elongate, approximately 3/5 length of corpus bursae, with transverse dash-like carinae along inner side of lateral margin, with dotted carinae posteriorly and anteriorly.

Male unknown.

DistributioN. Botswana (Gaborone).
