Type locality: ‘Gambia’.
Label locality: ‘ Mouth of the Gambia’ .
Type material: Lectotype NHMUK 1968235/1 and 5 paralectotypes NHMUK 1968235/2-6 (H. Cuming collection). Indirect lectotype selection by inference of holotype ( Cernohorsky, 1969: 216).
Remarks: ‘Mazatlan, Mexico’ designated as type locality by Bratcher & Cernohorsky (1987: 141).
