Type locality: ‘ Tahiti, Society Islands : Cuming. Nukuhiva , Marquesas : H. (v.s. in m. Belcher.)’.

Label locality: ‘Tahiti Society Islands’.

Type material: Lectotype NHMUK 1968253/1 and 2 paralectotypes NHMUK 1968253/2-3 (H. Cuming collection). Lectotype selection ( Cernohorsky, 1969: 212).

Remarks: ‘Tahiti, French Polynesia’ designated as type locality by Bratcher & Cernohorsky (1987: 42).
