Type material. CHINA, Sichuan Province: Holotype ³, Fuguangsi, Mt. Emei , 24.V.1979, slide No. DZH12005.
Paratypes: 1³, 23.V.1979, same data as holotype; 1♀, Wanniansi , Mt. Emei , 14.VI.1979, slide No. DZH12004 ( IZCAS) .
Diagnosis. This species is very similar to P. uncignatha Du, Li et Wang, 2011 . It can be distinguished in the male genitalia by the leaf-shaped uncus and the valva with four distal processes. In uncignatha , the uncus is elongate triangular and the valva has three distal processes.
Description. Adult (Fig. 5). Wingspan 11.0 mm. Head with vertex shining cream white, frons orange yellow, occiput ochreous brown. Labial palpus with first and second segments yellow on inner surface, orange yellow on outer surface; third segment white, black apically, approximately 2/3 as long as second segment. Antenna with scape white; flagellum with several basal flagellomeres white, remaining flagellomeres white annulated with black alternately. Thorax and tegula dark ochreous brown. Forewing with basal 1/4 ocherous brown, distal 3/4 from orange yellow to ochreous brown, distal 2/5 covered with dense deep silvery-grey scales, forming a large deep silvery-grey circular spot at about distal 3/4, encircled with blackish-brown scales; antemedian fascia white, from beyond basal 1/4 of costal margin obliquely outward to basal 3/4 of dorsum, anterior half widened outward, posterior half narrow, edged with black scales along inner margin; cilia yellow, except greyish brown along distal part of costal and dorsal margins. Hindwing and cilia silvery grey. Foreleg black, tibia with a small white spot at middle dorsally, tarsus with first tarsomere white at base and apex, second and fifth tarsomeres white at apex dorsally; midleg yellowish white, tibia and tarsus black dorsally, tibia with a tuft of long white scales at apex dorsally, tarsus with first tarsomere white at base and apex, second tarsomere white at apex dorsally; hindleg yellow.
Male genitalia (Fig. 12). Uncus heavily sclerotized, elongate lanceolate, with a longitudinal ridge along midline, with small serrations laterodistally. Tegumen narrowed anteriorly. Valva subparallel dorsoventrally, setose on distal 3/5; costa slightly arched medially, produced to a setose, narrowed distal process; sacculus almost uniformly wide, basal 2/5 smooth, distal 3/5 densely setose and produced to a large, apex-pointed process, nearly as long as distal process of costa; two large processes placed between base of costal and saccular processes: dorsal process larger than ventral process, basal half triangular, with a tuft of long setae curving upward, distal half beak-shaped, curved ventrad by a right angle, with a small spine at right corner; ventral process arising from base of dorsal lobe ventrally, stout, thumb-shaped, directing ventrad, reaching above dorsal margin of sacculus, basally extended and narrowed to 1/3 width of valva from costa. Juxta sclerotized, sub-oval longitudinally, open posteriorly; anterior lobe slender. Saccus broad, slightly narrowed to rounded apex. Aedeagus slightly curved, about 1.2 times as long as valva, basal 2/3 membranous, distal 1/3 sclerotized, with a curved small preapical process; apex rounded, with a mastoid process; cornutus absent.
Female genitalia (Fig. 19). Apophyses anteriores about half length of apophyses posteriores. Abdomen sclerotized sub-ovally from anterior 1/3 of 8 th tergum to anterior margin of 7 th tergum laterally; 7 th tergum obtusely rounded on anterior margin, with sub-oval protuberance laterally; 8 th sternum sclerotized, irregularly serrate and sparsely setose on posterior margin. Lamella postvaginalis with anterior 1/5 sub-rectangular, posterior 4/5 concave lenticular, rounded and spinulous on posterior margin, sclerotized laterally. Ductus bursae very short, about half length of corpus bursae, membranous, narrowed posteriorly, dilated anteriorly. Corpus bursae nearly round, membranous; signum placed on anterior end, irregularly shaped, with small denticles, two of which are larger.
Distribution. China (Sichuan).
Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin foli- and uncatus, referring to the shape of the uncus.
