Previously recorded from Angola, DRC, Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe ( Ferreira 1972; Josso and Prévost 2000; Davis 2013c).
New country record for Zambia: Five specimens, 30 km SSW of Kitwe, 7–19 December 2011. Specimens were found in pitfall traps baited with fresh cattle dung. This species has a wide distribution in central southern Africa , where miombo woodlands occur. Although little is known of its biology, it has been recorded from human and cattle dung. It is categorized as of ‘least concern’ in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species ( Davis 2013c) .
