Type species. Pitho sexdentata Bell, 1835 View in CoL [Type locality: Galapagos Islands ].

Remarks. The genus Pitho, long placed in Tychinae (Epialtidae), is currently accepted in Mithracidae ( Windsor & Felder 2014; Santana et al. 2016).
