Type species. Ilia ornata Randall, 1840 View in CoL [Type locality: Upper California] .

Remarks. The genus Randallia is essentially amphi-American in distribution, with the exception of Randallia gilberti ( Rathbun, 1906) (Hawaii) and Randallia granulata Miers, 1886 ( Fiji Islands). Randallia curacaoensis Rathbun, 1922 and R. laevis ( Borradaile, 1916) are the only Atlantic species.
