Distribution. Azores, British Islands, Central and South Europe, Scandinavian and Baltic countries, Belarus, Ukraine, European Russia, “Caucasus”, North Africa, Cyprus, Lebanon, Syria, Israel, Asian Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Siberia, China, Oriental Region; introduced to Nearctic and Neotropical Regions ( Knížek 2011b; Alonso-Zarazaga et al. 2017, 2023); as S. r: caucasicus Butovitsch, 1929 reported by Arnoldi et al. (1955) from Caucasus and Transcaucasia without country data. Armenia: as Eccoptogaster mediterraneus Eggers, 1922 reported by Ter-Grigorian (1941) from Meghri (Syunik Province), Echmiadzin (Armavir Province) and from Yerevan, by Avetian (1952) as S. mediterraneus from the same localities, by Mirzoian (1954) (as S. r. caucasicus ) from Tavush (Dilijan, Ijevan), Gegharkunik (Chambarak) and Syunik (Goris, Kapan, Meghri) Provinces and from Yerevan, and by Avetian (1952) and Iablokoff-Khnzorian, 1976 (as S. rugulosus ) distributed everywhere fruit trees grow.
