Neoeutrypanus Monné, 1977 View in CoL
Neoeutrypanus Monné, M.A., 1977: 685; 2005: 95; 2012: 71.
Type-species. Eutrypanus nitidus White, 1855 (original designation).
Neoeutrypanus is characterized in having setae in the antennae and elytral surface, evident elytral carinae, mesosternal process wider than the mesocoxal cavity, and in some species the males with posterior apex of the pro- and mesosternal process, median region of metasternum, coxae and first urosternite surface densely pubescent.
Remarks. Neoeutrypanus differs from Neopalame Monné & Martins, 1972 by having the elytral carina weakly developed, and by the absence of projections in the apices of the antennomeres IV-V (except in Neoeutrypanus dentatus sp. nov.). In Neopalame the elytra do not have a carina and in males the apices of the antennomeres IV-V are provided with an acute or obtuse tooth.
