Synonyms :— Ranunculus bequaertii De Wildeman (1923: 35) ; Type: — DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO. Ruwenzori (Butagu), ravin boisé, sur sol ombragé près ruisseau, 12 April 1914, J . Bequaert 3575 ( BR0000008975997 , BR0000008976000 ) .
Ranunculus bequaertii var. minor De Wildeman (1923: 36) View in CoL , syn. nov. Type: — DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO. Tongo , 26 September 1914, J. Bequaert 5894 ( BR0000008976024 ) .
Note:— Ranunculus bequaertii De Wild. View in CoL is treated as an accepted species in several databases (e.g., POWO 2023) but turns out to be identical to Ranunculus rugegensis View in CoL , which has priority. The species is restricted to the mountains of Eastern D.R. Congo, Western Rwanda, and Southwestern Uganda.
