Telphusa platyphracta Meyrick, 1935: 584 View in CoL ; TL: India, Shelarvadi , Bombay (now in Maharashtra) (Lectotype ♂ designated by Clarke 1969b: 439) ( NHMUK) .

Distribution: India: Maharashtra (Shelarvadi).

Illustrations: Adult and genitalia ( Clarke 1969b: 439).

Host: Lannea coromandelica ( Anacardiaceae ) (Robinson et al. 2023).

Remark: The larva is a minute miner that excretes at the open end of the mine. Later instars feed externally in a small shelter formed of a partially cut circle of leaf and excrement. It forms a tunnel with strong strands of silk sewing the long-pointed tip of the leaf (Meyrick 1935).
