Gelechia patulella Walker, 1864: 635 View in CoL ; TL: Sri Lanka [Ceylon] (Type ♀) ( NHMUK) .
Distribution: India: Gujarat and Karnataka ( Katewa & Pathania 2021), Kerala (Shamsudeen 2013), Tamil Nadu (Meyrick 1913a), and Uttarakhand (Dehradun) (Pathania et al. 2006). Elsewhere : Australia (Ponomarenko 1997), Laos (Park & Bae 2018), Sri Lanka, Taiwan (Park 1995), Thailand (Park & Ponomarenko 1996), and Vietnam ( Bae et al. 2016).
Illustrations: Adult and genitalia (Rose & Pathania 2003a: 334; Shamsudeen 2013: 75; Bae et al. 2016: 239; Park & Bae 2018: 278).
Hosts: Coriaria nepalensis ( Coriariaceae ); Tamarindus sp. ( Fabaceae ); Xylocarpus sp. ( Meliaceae ); Syzygium aqueum ( Myrtaceae ); Prunus salicina ( Rosaceae ); Nephelium sp. ( Sapindaceae ) (Robinson et al. 2023).
Remark: Walker’s type specimen was incorrectly identified as a male (Meyrick 1913a).
