TYPE LOCALITY. — French Guiana, Saint Jean du Maroni.
TYPE SPECIMEN. — Lectotype male designated by Watson (1975: 75) ( BMNH).
REMARK
Toulgoët has described an infrasubspecific name associated with this taxon:
Gorgonidia maronensis form martinezi Toulgoët, 1988d: 80. — Type locality: Ecuador, Napo, Coca. — Type specimen: Holotype male ( MNHN).
