Seitz has described two infrasubspecific names associated with this taxon:

Azatrephes fuliginosa ab. transiens Seitz, 1922: 379. — Type locality: [ Brazil], [Amazonas], Fonte Boa. — Type specimens: Undisclosed number of syntypes (?).

Azatrephes fuliginosa ab. infenestrata Seitz,1922:379.— Type locality: [ Brazil], [Amazonas], Fonte Boa. — Type specimens: Undisclosed number of syntypes (?).
