Nephrotoma hirsuticauda Alexander, 1924 View in CoL ( Figs 34–43 View Figures 34–43 )
Nephrotoma hirsuticauda Alexander, 1924: 597 View in CoL (original description); Liu et al., 2017: 49 (redescription).
Redescription. Hypopygium small, tergite ninth and sternite ninth separated totally ( Fig. 34 View Figures 34–43 ). Tergite ninth rounded laterally, posterior border with deep V-shaped incision ( Fig. 35 View Figures 34–43 ); tergite ninth with paired posterior extensions and small rods, densely equipped with black teeth ( Fig. 36 View Figures 34–43 ). Sternite ninth more massive than tergite ninth, split laterally, with many long setae on lateral surface and posterior border, slightly emarginated on posterior border ( Figs 34, 37 View Figures 34–43 ). Sternite eighth with a big lobe curved ventral and densely covered with long setae, posterior border of sternite eighth having many long setae ( Figs 34, 37 View Figures 34–43 ). Outer gonostylus broad at basal half, gradually narrowed to apex ( Figs 34, 38 View Figures 34–43 ). Inner gonostylus with apical beak short and stout, with basal beak strong, oval in shape, dorsal crest developed, extended beyond apex of apical beak, posterior portion with many long setae; posterolateral part appearing as a wide lobe, many long setae arise from its upper margin ( Fig. 39 View Figures 34–43 ). Aedeagal guide truncated at apex, gonapophyses with two pairs of lobes, dorsal lobe relatively short, acute apically, ventral lobe elongated, slightly S-shaped, ventral appendage of aedeagal guide elongated, relatively straight ( Figs 34, 40– 41 View Figures 34–43 ). Semen pump with ejaculatory apodeme divided into two lobes by a V-shaped notch, lobe enlarged apically ( Fig. 42 View Figures 34–43 ). Anterior immovable apodeme short, slightly curved dorsally ( Fig. 43 View Figures 34–43 ). Posterior immovable apodeme distinctly short than ejaculatory apodeme ( Fig. 43 View Figures 34–43 ).
Material examined. 2♂, China, Heilongjiang, Baoquanling , 7.V.2019, leg. Yixin Huang.
Distribution. China (Gansu, Shaanxi, Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia), Russia, Mongolia, North Korea, South Korea, Japan.
Remarks. The species is closely related to N. palloris ( Coquillett, 1898) , which is distributed in Russia and Japan. It differs from the latter species by the posterior extension of tergite ninth possessing small rod (without in N. palloris ), and the sternite eighth with a big lobe and densely covered with long setae (without lobe and long setae in N. palloris ).
