Type species (by monotypy): Pupa secale Draparnaud, 1801 .

Notes.—All the Abida species occur in the mountain chain formed by the Pyrenees and the Cantabrian

Mts. Only A. polyodon and especially A. secale additionally occur elsewhere. This genus has been the subject of a phylogenetic study by Kokshoorn (2008: 73–98).
