Abroma minor Jacobi, 1917

Abroma minor Jacobi 1917: 525   . (Tulear, Southwestern Madagascar)

Remarks.—Another of the smaller species, body length 15.5 mm, wingspan 35–40 mm ( Jacobi 1917; specimen in hand). It is castaneous heavily marked with piceous, the abdomen is covered with long golden pile except long silvery pile posterior to timbal cavity and the posterior dorsolateral tergites 6 and 7 and all of tergite 8.

Distribution.—The species is known only from Madagascar ( Metcalf 1963b). Jacobi (1917) reported the species from Tulear, Southwestern Madagascar.

Material examined.—“ MADAGASCAR: Mahajanga / Prov: Parc National Tsingy / de Bemaraha, 2.5 km 62° ENE / Bekopaka, Ankidrodroa River / elev 100m 11–15 Nov. 2001 // 19° 7’ 56”S 44° 48’ 53”E / coll: Fisher, Griswold et al. / California Acad of Sciences / at light, tropical dry forest / on Tsingy, code: BLF4343 // CASENT 3004677” one male ( AFSC) GoogleMaps

Tribe Nelcyndanini Marshall & Moulds, 2018   (in Marshall et al. 2018b)

Nelcyndanini Marshall & Moulds, 2018   (in Marshall et al. 2018b): 33.

Remarks.—The tribe was erected recently based on a five gene phylogenetic tree to based on a deep origin within the Cicadettinae   for the genus Nelcyndana Distant, 1906   ( Marshall et al. 2018b). The upper pygofer lobe is small and superimposed over the unornamented basal pygofer lobe and is unique to the Nelcyndanini   along with the divided uncus that has migrated to the lateral extremities of abdominal segment 10 to appear that they are accessories to the claspers ( Marshall et al. 2018b).
