Distribution in Iran. Ilam ( Ghahari et al. 2011c as Petalodes compressor (Herrich-Schäffer 1838)) .

General distribution. Palaearctic. Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, fomer Czechoslovakia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Korea, Lithuania, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, former Yugoslavia ( Yu et al. 2012 as Petalodes compressor ), England, Scotland, Wales ( Broad et al. 2016), Serbia ( Žikić et al. 2013), Switzerland ( Yu et al. 2012 as P. compressor (Herrisch-Schäffer) ; van Achterberg 2014), Siberia ( Tobias 1986 as P. unicolor Wesmael ) , USA ( Shenefelt 1975 as P. unicolor Wesmael ).

Hosts. Lepidoptera Erebidae : Leucoma salicis (Linnaeus, 1758) . Geometridae : Apocheima hispidaria (Denis & Schiffermüller 1775) ; Hydriomena furcata (Thunberg, 1784) ; Limacodidae : Apoda limacodes (Hufnagel, 1766) ; Tortrix testudinana Hübner, 1803 ; Nolidae : Nycteola sp.; N. asiatica (Krulikovsky, 1904) on Populus tremula ; N. revayana (Scopoli, 1772) . Notodontidae : Clostera sp.; Clostera anachoreta (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775) ; C. pigra (Hufnagel, 1766) . Tortricidae : Acleris hastiana (Linnaeus 1758) ; A. rosana (Linnaeus, 1758) ; Gypsonoma minutana (Hübner, 1799) on Populus tremula ( Yu et al. 2012) .

Comments: Petalodes compressor (Herrich-Schäffer, 1838) is included in the genus Aleiodes Wesmael, 1838 ; according to van Achterberg (1991, 2014) and Chen & He (1997). Both morphological analysis and DNA data ( Fortier & Shaw 1999; Quicke et al. 2006 respectively) confirm that the genus Petalodes Wesmal is a synonym of the genus Aleiodes (van Achterberg 2014) .
