Distribution in Iran. Zanjan province, Abhar, 36°16′N 49°03′E, 1♀, July 2012. New record for Iran.

General distribution. Palaearctic, Oriental. Albania , Belgium, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Italy, Japan, Korea, Madeira Islands , Mongolia, Montenegro, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, Turkmenistan, former Yugoslavia ( Yu et al. 2012), Austria, Finland ( Shenefelt 1975 as A. tristis Wesmael ), Siberia ( Watanabe 1937 as Rhogas tristis ; Shenefelt 1975 as A. tristis Wesmael ).

Hosts. Lepidoptera—Crambidae: Cnaphalocrocis medinalis (Guenée, 1854) ; Ostrinia nubilalis (Hübner, 1796) . Geometridae : Eupithecia pimpinellata (Hübner, 1813) ; Scopula nigropunctata (Hufnagel, 1767) . Hesperiidae : Thymelicus lineola (Ochsenheimer, 1808) ( Yu et al. 2012) . Noctuidae : Sideridis rivularis Fabricius, 1775 . Nymphalidae : Coenonympha pamphilus (Linnaeus, 1758) ; C. tullia (Müller, 1764) ; Erebia sp.; Limenitis populi (Linnaeus, 1758) ; Maniola jurtina (Linnaeus, 1758) ; Melanargia lachesis Hübner, 1790 ; Mycalesis gotama Moore, 1857 ; Pyronia tithonus (Linnaeus, 1767) . Pterophoridae : Emmelina monodactyla (Linneaus, 1758) ( Yu et al. 2012) .
