Tanycricini La Rivers, 1971 , stat. rev.

= Sagocorini La Rivers, 1971, syn. nov.

= Idiocarini Sites, 2022, syn. nov.

Comments. Idiocarini was created by Sites (2022) to include members of Sagocorini and Tanycricini, which were both contained in a different subfamily (Cheirochelinae) prior to the recent family-wide phylogeny. However, according to the Principle of Priority one of these two tribal names should have been used despite the transfer of their constituent taxa from Cheirochelinae to Naucorinae. The names Tanycricini La Rivers, 1971 and Sagocorini La Rivers, 1971 were established in the same paper, so their priority needs to be fixed using the Principle of the First Reviser ( ICZN 1999: Art. 24.2). As such, I here propose the resurrection of Tanycricini stat. rev. as the holding tribe for all genera recently held in Idiocarini ( Sites 2022) and formerly within Sagocorini and Tanycricini ( La Rivers 1971). Thus, Idiocarini and Sagocorini are junior synonyms.
