Diagnosis. Saccharodite obrieni shows similarities to Sa. montana sp. nov., Sa. minuscula sp. nov. and Sa. picta sp. nov., all three from New Guinea. It can be distinguished from these by the stramineous mesonotum and scutellum, and by the very small, globular apical part of the male aedeagus.
