Saccharodite securifera Zelazny View in CoL , sp. nov.
( Figs. 95, 312)
Description. Forewings 1.9 times longer than wide, length: male 3.2–3.7 mm (mean = 3.4, n = 4), female: about 2.9 mm. Posterior part of mesonotum, but not scutellum, with a bright red, rhomboid mark. Forewings glassy with very faint infuscations; veins stramineous with orange to orange-red sections in anterior, apical part; some piceous spots on base of Sc+R. Forewings with basal median cell broad, about twice as wide as basal cell between Sc+R and M. Male genitalia with pygofer narrow. Genital styles broad; proximal dorsal process broad, its tip curved inwards; distal dorsal process elongated. Aedeagus hatchet-like; on the ventral side, just before the apical portion, two flat, contiguous lobes, their front end abruptly cut off; a longitudinal fold divides the dorsal side into a short left lobe, bearing minute teeth, and a longer right lobe pointed at the end and bearing an additional, lateral process curving outwards.
Note. Externally like to Saccharodite plurima sp. nov. The above description has been shortened, due to this similarity.
Etymology. The species name is a Latin adjective (securifer, - fera , -ferum = bearing an axe).

Distribution. North Borneo, Sumatra, West Malaysia.
Diagnosis. Saccharodite securifera is unseparable externally from Sa. plurima sp. nov. and Sa. spinosa Zelazny and is very similar to Sa. lucifera sp. nov., all three also found in Borneo. It can be distinguished from these by the hatchet-like male aedeagus.
