Diagnosis. The species of the Rhotana ornata species group can be recognized by the combination of the following characters:
1. Forewings colourless except for some dark spots, the most prominent spots near tip of Cu and at base of 1st subcostal sector.
2. Forewings with Ms1 fork near apex of basal median cell.
3. Hindwings without marks.
4. Facial carinae contiguous at their base.
5. Apical part of male aedeagus often with numerous processes and branches.
6. Male pygofer without lateral projections or these not prominent.
Distribution. Species of this group are found in the Philippines, Borneo, West Malaysia and Sumatra.
