Colour stramineous; margins of facial carinae orange; fore and middle tibiae very faintly orange-brown. Rostrum surpassing hind coxae; subantennal processes connected to margins of facial carinae. Forewings with Sc+R fork just distad of basal third of wing; Ms1 branched just distad of apex of basal median cell, base of Ms1a angulated and connected to M by a cross-vein; apical parts of Cu1 and Ms1b merged; Ms3 short, not connected by a cross-vein to Ms2 or M; a cross-vein between Ms2 and M. Male genital styles oval, proximal dorsal process short, distal dorsal process elongated, both well separated. Aedeagus stem with a pair of short projections just before apical part; apical portion with a short, dorsal, pointed process, and a central, dorsal, longitudinal impression.

Etymology. The species name is a Latin adjective ( apicalis , -is, -e = apical).
