Diagnosis
Distinguished from the other species of the subgenus by the following combination of characters: punctures on mesosoma fine and very sparse, scutellum and most of mesoscutum largely impunctate, inferior carinae of propodeum normally developed, carinae on S2 absent, T2 with two pairs of pale spots; female clypeus flattened ( Figure 3c View Figure 3 ).

Distribution
Democratic Republic of Congo ( Maidl 1914a, 1914b) ( Figure 8 View Figure 8 ).
Notes
The specimen recorded by Gusenleitner (1999) as a female of S. ornatissima from Ivory Coast was examined based on photographs. Surprisingly, it turned out to be a male of S. aestuans aestuans (Fabricius) .
