The following combination of morphological features characterizes this group: paranota with the anterior margin shallowly insinuated; hemelytra widest in their median part, and with lateral margins broadly rounded or slightly sinuated; spine on the hood apex absent; triangular hump on median carina developed behind the hood. At present ( Linnavuori, 1977), it is represented only by three Afrotropical species, namely A. aeneas Linnavuori, 1977 , A. junodi ( Distant, 1904) and A. vanderijsti .
