( Figs. 26–30 View FIGURES 21–30 )

Description of adult male: Color in alcohol golden yellow, covered with scattered light pubescence, forewing membrane light brown, with pale maculation; dorsum of head brown. Length from tip of head to apices of folded forewings about 9 mm; maxillary palps each 1.75 mm long, 2nd segment 1.5 times 3rd segment, 5th segment almost equal to segments 1st–4th together; labial palps each about 0.50 mm long; antennae about 6.5 mm long. Length of each forewing about 7.75 mm (n = 3); length of each hind wing 5.25 mm.

Male genitalia ( Figs. 26–30 View FIGURES 21–30 ): Abdominal segment IX longitudinally short, anterolaterally somewhat convex in lateral view; dorsomedian keel produced, granulose, triangular; posterolateral lobe on each side roundly produced, setose, setal row not continuous with setae on posterolateral slope of keel. Very small invagination visible on dorsal margin between segment IX and tergum X. Body of tergum X longitudinally short, quadrangular in lateral view; roundly quadrangular in dorsal view; apicoventral setose lobes digitate, curved dorsad; mesally dilated in dorsal view, each with sharp median edge; tiny apicodorsal lobe medially between apicoventral lobes; dorsal interlobular gap wide between apicoventral lobes. Inferior appendages long, each with basal segment dilated medially, broad apically in lateral view; almost straight, slightly curved mesad apically in ventral view; apical segment small, broad basally, tapering towards hooked apex in lateral view; pointed, curved mesad in ventral view. Phallic apparatus complex and broad basally; endotheca, slender, with pair of long, broad subapical spines in ventral view directed anterolaterad; one preapical spine directed dorsad in lateral view, small apical spine also visible in lateral view.

Holotype: Male , INDIA: Jammu & Kashmir: Manasbal Lake, 1800 m, 2-viii-2009, Pandher & Parey, NPC .

Paratypes: 2 males, collection data same as for holotype ( NPC).

Diagnosis: This species belongs to the Hydropsyche formosana Group. It is similar to Hydropsyche augeias Malicky & Chantaramongkol 2000 ( Thailand) . The apicoventral setose lobes of tergum X in H. hajinensis are curved anterodorsad in lateral view, whereas these lobes are not curved in lateral view in H. augeias , but are directed dorsad. Moreover, in dorsal view the apical margin of the body of tergum X is medially pointed in H. hajinensis , whereas it is medially invaginated in H. augeias .

Distribution: India: Jammu and Kashmir.

Etymology: This species name refers to the village Hajin Sonawari, located near the type locality, Manasbal Lake, where the researchers stayed during their expedition.
