Material examined. Fujian Province, Wuyi Mountain National Nature Reserve, 27°40’31’’N, 117°56’23’E, 1 male, 30.iv.1993, light trap, X. Wang; Hainan Province, Wanning City, Xinglong County, Overseas Chinese Farm, 18°45’33’’N, 110°12’12’’E, 1 male, 21.v.1989, light trap, X. Wang; Zhejiang Province, Lishui City, Suichuang County, Jiulong Mountain National Nature Reserve, 28°24’11’’N, 118°51’20’’E, 1 male, 9.iv.2009, Malaise trap, X. Liang.

Diagnostic characters. The adult male of the species differs from other members of the genus by having the supraalar seta, the anal lobe reduced, the inferior volsella with a rounded projecting simple lobe, the anal point weak with few setae and the dentate megaseta.

Remarks. Chinese specimens accord with main characters of the description. We agree with Mendes et al. (2004), who considered C. claggi (Tokunaga) as a synonym of C. nerius .

Distribution. China (Fujian, Hainan, Zhejiang); USA, Belau, Bonin Islands, Micronesia.
