Diagnosis. Recognisable by the combination of the following characters: body form strongly elongate, eyes small, antennomere VII larger than VI and VIII, pronotum weakly transverse with the anterior denticle broadly rounded.
Description. Body length 3.3 mm (n=1), strongly elongate, 3.28× longer than wide; colour red-brown, with head and disc of pronotum distinctly darker; pubescence long, pale, appressed and moderately conspicuous; surface weakly glossy. Head transverse, 1.78× wider than long; puncturation moderately impressed and moderately dense medially, increasing in size and density laterally with punctures separated by about their diameter; setae long and appressed, conspicuous; microsculpture finely reticulate, surface moderately glossy; eyes small, moderately projecting, ocular index 0.75, finely faceted, postocular denticle absent, reduced; antennae as in Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 E, antennomere VII larger than VI and VIII. Pronotum weakly transverse, 1.19× wider than long, widest at about anterior 1/3, sides subparallel; lateral margins explanate, strongly reflexed, anterior denticle broadly rounded, antero-medial denticle small and broadly obtuse, postero-medial moderately produced and narrowly obtuse, posterior denticle small and obtuse; disc weakly impressed; puncturation as for head with an indistinct narrow, impunctate median strip; setation and microsculpture as for head. Elytra strongly elongate, 2.25× longer than wide, sides subparallel; epipleura strongly explanate; puncturation moderately dense but weakly impressed basally, becoming more dense and deeply impressed laterally, puncturation faint on disc; setation long, appressed and conspicuous; microsculpture coriaceous. Genitalia for male as in Fig. 4 View FIGURE 4 G, parameres strongly elongate, slender, narrowed basally and tapering apically; internal sac with fine inconspicuous tooth-like projections basally and a moderately sclerotized flagellum in apical section.
Type material. Holotype (male): “FUKIEN, S. China: Shaowu, Tachuland 21.v.1942. [Date handwritten] // T. C. Maa Collector BISHOP // BISH [Yellow label] // HOLOTYPE Pediacus fujianensis Marris & Ślipiński 2013 ”. Specimen on card point with genitalia mounted in DHMF on card below; deposited in BPBM.
Distribution. China (Fujian Province [formerly known as Fukien Province]).
Etymology. This species is named after the type locality of the single specimen known representing this species, Fujian Province.
