Syntypes: ZMB 3633 , body in alcohol, skull extracted, male, juvenile; “Rio Corvea” (=?), Angola; ex Museum Lisbon . ZMB 3637 , body in alcohol, skull extracted, male; Caconda , Bibala, Namibe, Angola; ex Museum Lisbon .

Comment: Peters described this species using “different specimens” (= syntypes) but no holotype was selected. Another syntype is at BMNH (1879.1.21.2).
