Comments. Ectopomyia baculigera was described from Laos by Hardy (1973) and recorded from Laos and southern China by Hancock (2014). Both E. baculigera and genus Ectopomyia are recorded for the first time from Kerala, India. Adults are pale yellow; scutum with 2 lateral black longitudinal vittae; wing predominantly brown with hyaline marginal spots and indentations, cell c with a brown quadrate spot. The sexes are dimorphic in wing pattern and males have a large ventral appendage on the fore femur ( Hardy, 1973). E. baculigera differs from E. hancocki Chua , which is the only other described species of this genus and distributed in West Malaysia, in wing pattern and anepisternum characters ( Chua, 2009; Hancock, 2014).
