Diagnosis. Face with 1 V-shape median brown spot. Antenna brownish yellow to blackish brown, 1 st flagellomere yellow basally. Mesonotum with 2 narrow median brown band. Male genitalia ( Figs. 15–20 View FIGURES 11–15 View FIGURES 16–20 ): syntergosternite slen- der, incomplete circular in anterior view, breakage connected by membrane.

Description. MALE. Body length 2.1–2.4 mm, wing length 2.6–2.8 mm. FEMALE. Body length 2.2–2.3 mm, wing length 2.4–2.5 mm.

Head ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 11–15 ) pale yellow. Face brownish yellow with 1 V-shape median brown spot and with 1 brown spot on ventral margin; parafacial with 1 elliptic brown spot on apical margin. Frons brownish yellow except anterior margin yellow, with grayish white pruinescence, wider than long and anterior margin narrower than the posterior, trapeziform, with a pair of narrow brown median bands, extending to ocellar triangle; ocellar triangle blackish gray, oc developed, longer than anterior or; anterior or about half length of the posterior, and each with 1 blackish brown basal spot. Gena about 1/5 eye height. Occiput with gray pruinescence. Antenna brownish yellow to blackish brown, 1 st flagellomere yellow basally and nearly 1.4 times longer than high; arista blackish brown except yellow basally, pubescent. 1 brown triangular spot present between antenna and eye. Proboscis pale yellow, with yellow and black hairs; palpus yellow except pale brown at apex, with black hairs.

Thorax ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 11–15 ) brown, with grayish yellow pruinescence. Mesonotum with 2 narrow median brown band indistinctly, extending from anterior margin to anterior of scutellum, postpronotum with posterior margin surrounded by 1 thin brown band, 3–4 brown spots between dc and supra-alar seta; 1+3 dc, 1st post-sutural dc near transverse scutal suture, presutural dc closer to anterior margin than presutural acr; 1+3 acr, in 2 rows; prescutellar acr broken; dc, acr and prescutellar acr each with 1 brown basal spot. Anepisternum and katepisternum with gray pruinescence, anepisternum with 2 brown spots near dorsal margin, 1 brown spot near ventral margin, 2 anepst (the strongest one near posterior margin) and 3–4 short hairs; 2 kepst. Scutellum with grayish yellow pruinescence. Leg yellow, femora pale brown except pale yellow at apex, tibiae with 1 brown circle near base, apical tarsi brown. Fore femur with 5 pd, 3 pv; fore tibia with 1 long dp, 2 short apv. Mid femur with 5 a, 1 app; mid tibia with 1 strong dp, 1 apv. Hind femur with 2 apv on apical half, 1 preapical ad; hind tibia with 1 dp, 1 short apv. Wing ( Fig. 12 View FIGURES 11–15 ) anterior margin brown, posterior margin gray gradually; r-m and apical R 2+3 each with 1 hyaline transverse band, extending from anterior margin to the posterior; r 1 and r 3 cell each with 3 hyaline spots; with 1 hyaline apical spot between R 4+5 and M 1+2; posterior margin with circular or irregular hyaline spots; subcostal cell brown; costa with 2nd, 3rd and 4th sections in proportion of 9.7: 3.5: 2.2; r-m beind middle of discal cell; ultimate and penultimate sections of M 1 in proportion of 6.9: 3.6; ultimate section of CuA 1 about 1/6 of penultimate section. Halter pale yellow except knob brown.

Abdomen ( Fig. 15 View FIGURES 11–15 ) blackish brown except syntergosternite and epandrium brown, with grayish white pruinescence; tergites 2–6 with 1 row setae on posterior margin. Male genitalia ( Figs. 16–20 View FIGURES 16–20 ): syntergosternite slender, incomplete circular in anterior view, breakage connected by membrane. Epandrium slender. Surstylus broad with seta, tapering apically. Hypandrium H-shaped with a pair of distinct inner process. Gonopod tubiform, wider than aedeagus in lateral view, with 3 long hairs. Aedeagus slender basally, with a pair of dorsal sclerites, without apical concave. Aedeagal apodeme tubiform, shorter than 1/2 length of aedeagus.

Distribution. China (Yunnan, Tibet), Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia. Remarks. The new species is very similar to Trypetisoma (Trypaneoides) semicircularis sp. nov. from the Oriental region, but the latter wing r 3 cell with 4 hyaline spots, 2m 2 cell with more than 10 hyaline spots, tergites with bands; this species wing r 3 cell with 3 hyaline spots, 2m 2 cell with less than 10 hyaline spots, tergites without band.
