Type locality. Pozo Hondo , Tambores, Tacuarembó, Uruguay .

Distribution. Known from Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay,at the southern portion of the South American open diagonal ( Plt. 12A View Plate 12 ). In Brazil, widespread in the Pampas Grasslands, with marginal records in Araucaria Forest and Atlantic Forest ( Plt. 12A View Plate 12 ), mostly at low elevations ( Plt. 12B View Plate 12 ). Observed in the field in grassland, rock outcrops, and temporarily flooded areas ( Giraudo, 1999; Ghizoni-Jr. et al., 2009).
