Type locality. Fazenda Capão do Porcos , near Brumado , “Campos region,” west of Serra do EspinhaÇo, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil .

Distribution. Known from Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay ( Plt. 232A View Plate 232 ), recorded in the southern portion of the Cerrado and its contact areas with the Atlantic Forest, with marginal records in the Pantanal and Caatinga ( Plt. 232A View Plate 232 ), mostly at intermediate to high elevations ( Plt. 232B View Plate 232 ). Observed in the field in open areas, forest border and disturbed areas ( Giraudo and Scrocchi, 1998; Giraudo and Scrocchi,2002; Marques et al., 2009; Moreira et al., 2009; Sousa et al., 2010).
